Hi! I’m Rachel Poulin. Let Me Repeat Myself is my pattern design studio!

I’m a Los Angeles based artist and designer who’s always gravitated toward hand lettering (the weirder, the better!) and high-contrast line art patterns and colors. I have a strong sense of negative space and balance, extensive graphic design experience, and love exploring the idea that letters and messages can be their own unique textures.

Originally from Maine, I got my BFA in graphic design from the Rochester Institute of Technology in upstate New York, as well as an additional associates degree in art and illustration. Prior to college, I was ‘that shy art kid’ in high school, with a love for realistic and detailed drawing and painting. My senior masterwork was a 6’ x 6’ self portrait in the style of Chuck Close, which was about as abstract as I’d ever gotten at that point!

I balance my super detail oriented surface pattern design work with the abstract paintings I create for my art account, @colorexploder.
